Choosing Lake Hollywood Park as basecamp, the Hollywood Sign Experience consists of the 6 different walk/hike ventures (4 are bicycle friendly) with various levels of difficulty offering the best and closest views of Los Angeles' most popular landmark, the HOLLYWOOD Sign.
Basecamp. Free parking is available in the adjacent neighborhood. Great views of the Sign and reservoir ('Lake Hollywood). Hydration station and large grassy area. Soon restrooms and public shuttles to Hollywood Blvd.
Also called the Deronda Platform, this is the easiest of the experiences if you venture from Lake Hollywood Park. Take Innsdale Trail to Mulholland Hwy. You'll pass the closest Hollywood Sign vantage point at The Last House on Mulholland. The wide platform at the Tyrolean Tank is great for larger group selfies, and also provides amazing views of DTLA to the ocean.
From Tyrolean, take the 45 minute hike to the top of Mt. Lee where you'll find yourself behind the sign! Enjoy amazing vistas as far as the eye can see, including the San Fernando Valley, Burbank, and the San Gabriel Mountains. You'll get a true 'top of the world' view of Los Angels. Definitely hydrate and fill your bottles at The Last House on Mulholland viewpoint, as there is no water beyond that point.

From the Wisdom Tree, either return the same route. or follow the trail to the Wonderview Trailhead then walk along the reservoir back to Innsdale Trailhead.
The loop around the reservoir is flat, mostly paved and 3.5 miles long. With many quintessential LA vistas, it's a favorite among joggers and tourists alike.
Walk one way to the Observatory and take the Parkline Shuttle back to Hollywood Blvd.
This is a great option for those that are arriving by rideshare apps. The generally flat trail takes about 2.5 hours. Fill your water at The Last House on Mulholland Vista along the way - it's the last Hydration station for several miles.
There is plenty of free parking in the neighborhood. Spread out and leave room for everyone to comfortably park. Then pick your trail. To the reservoir? Or perhaps to the back of the sign? Soon we expect restrooms, information kiosks and public shuttle transportation to Lake Hollywood Park.
